Taste of Recovery Licensing

Immediate trauma support for survivors and for your frontline teams

When someone discloses a rape or sexual assault, the need for support is immediate.
Yet waiting lists for therapy are growing, and in many cases, closed. Frontline staff are left trying to hold that space with limited tools, knowing the survivor in front of them cannot wait.

No one should be left without help while they’re waiting for help.

Image of a woman with long hair on the phone – healing is happening. She is resting on the back of a sofa and looking out of a large window. The photo is taken from behind so you can see her back & the window. It gives the impression of someone working through their trauma and going on a journey of recovery, rediscovery and reconnection.

What is Taste of Recovery?

Taste of Recovery is an online, trauma-informed programme that survivors can access straight away. It offers:

  • Short, accessible lessons explaining what’s happening in the mind and body after trauma
  • Grounding techniques that bring moments of calm and safety
  • Simple structures to make the days ahead feel more manageable
  • A foundation for longer-term healing

It is not a replacement for therapy, but it helps people stabilise and often makes them “therapy-ready,” improving outcomes when counselling begins.

Why organisations license it

Licensing Taste of Recovery means you can:

  • Offer immediate support from the first disclosure, bridging the most dangerous gap between asking for help and receiving it

  • Reduce pressure on staff, giving them a proven tool to use when there are no quick options available

  • Improve counselling outcomes, as many survivors arrive better prepared and more engaged

  • Empower survivors, some have even removed themselves from waiting lists after completing the programme

  • Provide scalable, cost-effective support with lifetime-use licences and minimal ongoing fees

Proven impact

Since 2017, over 17 charities have licensed Taste of Recovery, alongside Swansea University, the first UK higher education institution to adopt it for its students.

“A truly comprehensive and holistic approach to the first steps of recovering… I feel different, like I am beginning to face forward.” – Emma, survivor

“Clients who completed the course were more prepared in the counselling room and understood more around trauma.” – CEO, Jasmine House

Over 6,000 people have accessed the content, and numbers continue to grow.

How it works

  • Survivors access via a secure portal branded to your organisation

  • Content includes 3 modules, 15 videos, audio options, transcripts, and downloadable workbooks
  • Available 24/7, on any device, to anyone aged 16+
